PNC Custom Vise - Dimensions Question

https://pocketnc.com/collections/v2-10/products/copy-of-pocket-nc-custom-vise

I am designing an adapter to further offset the gripper jaws to bring smaller pieces of stock closer to the center of the B table. This way I can keep my end mill “length below holder” as short as possible, and not need to reposition the working piece and redo setup/offsets.

My question being, can someone share the dimensional placement of the M4 Set Screw Gripper Jaws? Also, what is the thread pitch of the M4 Set Screw Gripper Jaws?

  • 6061 Aluminum Vise Set
  • 1 M6 Clamping Screw
  • 2 3/16in Sliding Dowel Pins
  • 10 1/8in Dowel Pin Gripper Jaws
  • 6 M4 Set Screw Gripper Jaws
  • 1 M4 Mounting Fastener
  • 2mm, 3mm, and 5mm Wrenches

I understand if the PNC team prefers not to share this information as IP. Just figured I would ask before designing a new vise gripper.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

We are excited to see what you come up with, please share pictures when it’s done! You can find CAD models for the vise in this link.

The dimensions you asked for are:
X1 = 0.106in to center
X2 = 0.787in center-to-center
Z1 = 0.200in to center
Pitch = M4x0.7
